Loon Lake Extravaganza

Yesterday Leonard and I went hiking with my parents to Loon Lake. A plane crashed there in the 1940s and you can hike to the wreckage. It was a beautiful day, and a great workout. Of course, you can't spend an entire day galavanting in the wilderness with Leonard without some good Leonardisms to go along.

Leonardism #1: At one point during the hike we encountered some uneven ground that required scaling rocks and fallen trees. I suggested to Leonard that perhaps we should use walking sticks for stability. Leonard found a branch of appropriate height and used it for only a few seconds before he muttered, "Aw, I feel too much like a wizard," and threw the stick to the side of the trail.

Leonardism #2: After a break, Leonard noted that my mom had dropped some of her Werther's Originals on the ground. "No worries" I stated, "I'm sure the deer enjoy Werther's as well," to which Leonard replied, "Yeah, I bet you're right. I think the grandfather deer actually taught them all about Werther's when they were young."

Here are some more pictures from our hike:

Kickin' it with the boyz, superhero style

Here are some pics from our recent trip to visit Jimmy and Shannon and the boys in Seattle.

I never knew that playing superheros and a toned-down version of Dracula could be so fun, or that sunshine would exude from my every pore to hear Eli say "Yes!! You're going to be here in the morning! Yes!!"

Graduation

So it finally happened, and we're still adjusting to the fact that there aren't any assignments due tomorrow and we don't have to move to weird random apartments across the state for 5 weeks at a time. In fact we have absolutely nothing to do tomorrow. Nothing at all. We'll figure it out after we've slept in. This will be our theme until we start working in October.
Here are some pictures from graduation - but don't worry, of course there's a Leonardism at the bottom.

Leonard's mom Irene - she's always bringing her gangsta pride to family functions.

This little guy shares 1/4 of my genes.

Ron & Irene - they put up with a lot of teasing

Daddy-O and Pegalicious

More family - we like hanging out with these guys.

Leonard's grandparents. He gets his snuggliness from the gentleman on the right.

Leonardism...Prior to the actual ceremony, we all donned our regalia and took class pictures. Our gowns had these weird long, hanging sleeves which Leonard likened to the wizarding smocks worn by the students at Hogwarts. Leonard made this wide stance with his legs, and placed his arms in front of himself menacingly, shouting confidently "status epilepticus!!!!" - a medical term referring to a seizure lasting greater than 30 minutes. Hmmm....a Harry Potter reference and a nerdy medical term together in one sentence???? Yeah, Leonard's pretty hip.
